The Administration view of OpenCms

Users, groups, projects, file history and other settings are managed in the Administration view of OpenCms. Only users with an Administrator role have full access to every feature of the Administration. Administrate galleries for images, external links, downloads and HTML code snippets available for the content managers. Export or import all or parts of the contents of your website.

Also manage search indexes for the integrated Lucene search engine, define scheduled tasks to perform, e.g. to update the search indexes regularly every night. OpenCms also features an integrated module mechanism that allows convenient bundling of contents or functionality for deployment on other machines. The OpenCms API allows to plugin customized Administration points to implement new functions for your website.

  • OpenCms 17 available

    Apr 9, 2024 - OpenCms 17 gives content managers the new app "Date search" to find content that has been changed in a certain time range. The "Websites" app allows to easily export the content of a complete site for archiving. An option has been added to hide "sensitive" content in the Offline project. The default Mercury template has been further improved, e.g. with SEO optimized job postings, a "spacer" function and marker clusters for maps. OpenCms 17 has also been tested and certified using Java 17 LTS and 21 LTS.
