Alexander is CEO of Alkacon Software GmbH and leading OpenCms core developer.
Being the original architect, Alexander invented OpenCms back in 1998. Since then, he is an active developer and contributor to the project. He also was responsible for the "open sourcing" of OpenCms in 2000. End of 2001, he founded Alkacon Software with the goal to focus exclusively on high quality OpenCms consulting and development. Today, Alkacon Software is the official maintainer of the OpenCms core development, currently serving over 100 customers all over the globe.
Working with OpenCms since more than 10 years, Alexander has been involved in literally hundreds of OpenCms projects worldwide. He also has developed significant portions of the OpenCms core system, for example the XML content API, the full text search integration and the image scaling. His latest core addition has been the EL function API for JSP pages.
Sep 26, 2016 - OpenCms 10.5 Beta provides a feature complete look at OpenCms 10.5. This will be the only pre-release version before OpenCms 10.5.0 is published, which is expected by the end of November. Only minor GUI updates, as well as improvements to the demo template, will be made for the final release.

Jun 14, 2016 - Being the greatest OpenCms update for years, version 10 brings a vastly improved user experience that combines the intuitive "Direct Edit" approach of OpenCms with a new, well integrated Lauchpad app center. OpenCms 10.0.1 is a maintenance update for 10.0.0 installations. It fixes several issues that persisted in previous releases. This version focuses on performance and stability.
