OpenCms Days 2009 Conference and Expo

Using OpenCms to cut costs in times of recession

OpenCms Days 2009 did take place from Monday, June 15 to Tuesday, June 16, 2009 in Cologne, Germany.

The conference did focus on how OpenCms can be used to deliver top notch web projects and help to successfully overcome shrinking IT and marketing budgets.

2009's OpenCms Days motto has been "Using OpenCms to cut costs in times of recession". Analysts agree that a viable way to reduce IT costs is using Open Source Software. OpenCms certainly provides an appealing option to reduce IT and web marketing costs, and the 2009 conference did center on this issue.

Our conference business track emphasized on cost saving opportunities with OpenCms. In the technical sessions we showed OpenCms developments that can be included as "ready made" components in your next project. Some sessions did also focus on the collaboration in the OpenCms community, as this is an important factor that can help to reduce costs by leveraging the work of others. In the OpenCms Days 2009 Expo, OpenCms solution providers presented their ready made solutions around OpenCms.

You can still download the archived conference program in one PDF file.

OpenCms Days 2009 conference featured 2 parallel tracks with Business and Technical sessions:

  • Business track sessions did emphasize on cost saving opportunities using OpenCms, as well as best practices, industry discussions and management decision making insights to OpenCms projects.
  • Technical sessions have been targeted towards developers and showed cutting edge OpenCms developments that can be included as "ready made" components in your next project.

We hope everyone who attended had a great time at OpenCms Days 2009. See you again next year for OpenCms Days 2010!
