OpenCms Hosting Management

Track: Showcase
Speaker: Alejandro Alves (OpenCms Hispano)

Abstract

Although OpenCms is one of the best CMS tools in the market, OpenCms Hispano has identified two drawbacks: hosting price and the need for user computer literacy in order to develop simple applications.

Alejandro did present his approach to address these limitations by reducing TCO and complexity. To achieve this, a hosting management platform has been build around OpenCms.

The platform allows users to acquire well defined service packages according to their needs, from a very simple to a complex web 2.0 implementation. The platform is built in such a way that the user only needs to take care of the content and the look and feel of the website and he will be able to achieve his target with a simple drag and drop philosophy.  This means there is no need for a system admin or programmer to create a website since everything will be automatically done by OpenCms.

In a market suffering a big price and budget erosion, this tool is certainly the best choice for all types of users: from a personal webpage, SOHO to even multinational companies.
