Michael Emmerich is an OpenCms expert who has been continuously working with OpenCms for more than 10 years. Michael was among the initial group of developers of the first open sourced version of OpenCms which was published back in 2000.
Today he is an OpenCms system architect, project manager and senior consultant at Alkacon Software. His responsibilities include the management of the OpenCms support team as well as numerous customer projects.
His hobbies include German naval history and snowboarding.
Oct 8, 2024 - OpenCms 18 adds a new "Place element" mode in the page editor that allows precise element placement as an alternative to drag & drop. Reused content is now clearly marked. Automatic typographical correction of quotation marks has been added to all of the editors. “Dead links” in content that is entered in a WYSIWYG editor are now automatically disabled. Our Mercury template includes several new features, such as setting different image formats for mobile and desktop and many more.
