Rich is a partner at NorthPoint, a premier, New York-based, Open Source content management firm focused on developing enterprise Content Management System (CMS) solutions by leveraging Open Source technologies. He is responsible for all the delivery for the NorthPoint Content Solutions Practice.
Rich is a highly-accomplished, results-driven leader with 20+ years of diversified experience in large and complex technology projects at Fortune 500 companies. He has had 5 years of experience with using Open Source technologies for web applications, in addition to having specifically worked with OpenCms at Fortune 500 organizations in the Media, Publishing, Healthcare, Education, and Not-for-Profit markets.
Rich has been instrumental in directing the NorthPoint technology team to contribute back to the Open Source community and has guided them successfully through various projects that include Re-platforming CMS’s, Performance Scaling and Tuning, and Integrated Search.
Prior to joining NorthPoint, Rich was a partner at Austin Solutions, a regional consulting firm specializing in enterprise resource planning implementations in SAP, Oracle, Siebel, and PeopleSoft. Prior to Consulting, Rich was an Executive at the United Parcel Service responsible for strategic architecture and developing their tracking application.
Apr 9, 2024 - OpenCms 17 gives content managers the new app "Date search" to find content that has been changed in a certain time range. The "Websites" app allows to easily export the content of a complete site for archiving. An option has been added to hide "sensitive" content in the Offline project. The default Mercury template has been further improved, e.g. with SEO optimized job postings, a "spacer" function and marker clusters for maps. OpenCms 17 has also been tested and certified using Java 17 LTS and 21 LTS.
