Alkacon OpenCms 5.0.x Howto: Setting up httpd, Tomcat and mod_proxy

Explains how to integrate the Apache httpd, Apache Tomcat and OpenCms 5.0 using mod_proxy so that

  • all static resources (e.g. images or binaries) are served directly by the Apache Webserver
  • dynamic resources are served by OpenCms through Tomcat
  • without using the usually mandantory /opencms/opencms prefix (i.e. no prefix is visible to the end - user)
  • in a multi - site configuration where one OpenCms installation serves mutiple domains

Download OpenCms

  • OpenCms 16 brings the new app "Unused contents" that allows to find and delete content that is not actively used on any container page. It is now possible to select between several individual detail pages in the same website based on categories of the detail content. It can now be enforced that all content managers must set a new password after the next login. The default Mercury template brings several new features, e.g. the "Image tile display" formatter for the "Tabs / accordion" element.
