Alkacon OpenCms 9.5.3

OpenCms 9.5.3 is ready and available for download.

The update was developed by Alkacon Software GmbH, supported by the international OpenCms community.

OpenCms 9.5.3 is a maintenance update for 9.5 installations that fixes several issues that persisted in previous releases. This version focuses on security and stability, also adding a limited number of new features.

We also have updated the OpenCms Docker image as well as the OpenCms documentation and the OpenCms demo site for this release.

Improved in OpenCms 9.5.3

  • Added support for Java 8.
  • Improved the source code editor in WYSIWYG fields.
  • Gallery dialog now memorizes the last search result sort order.
  • Demo template updated to Bootstrap 3.3.6 and jQuery 1.11.3.
  • Updated the source code editor to latest version of CodeMirror (5.10).
  • Updated the WYSIWYG editor to latest version of TinyMCE (4.3.2).
  • Security: Fixed several XSS issues, mostly in the demo content.
  • Dozens of issues have been fixed (see the release notes for the complete list).

We recommend everyone who uses OpenCms to update to the version 9.5.3 release. OpenCms 9.5.3 is fully backward compatible to all prior 9.x and 8.x versions. Templates and other OpenCms developed code from these versions work "out of the box" with version 9.5.3.

OpenCms 9.5.3 requires a new version of Alkacon OCEE. The update is free for Alkacon customers with a valid OCEE update subscription. Please contact Alkacon to receive the new version.
